Snails in potato Grow bags

I have been growing Maris Pipper in bags

In one of the bags I have found two snails in the top of the soil.

Do theses snails eat potato tubers or just the green leafs?

How can I get rid of them and what is the best action to take.

I've never noticed potatoes being eaten by slugs or snails,just the foliage,I moved my potato bags the other day & found four huge snails,they must like hiding in all the foliage.

Can you just lift the snails out? Perhaps a beer trap at the side would attract them away from your potatoes. It is the little grey keel slugs that like tubers.

You're ok, it's the slugs you need to worry about not the snails. Besides, you can pick off the snails and crunch them underfoot.

True, but it's not as satisfying somehow. Personally I save the salty water bucket for the slugs.
