Lawn Weed

Hi all,

Hope you've had a great summer so far planting!

I recently got a new lawn put them (March/April) and I've just started having a few problems with it and I hope you can help.



Attached are some photographs I've took this morning, Firstly how do I get rid of these weeds? I've read on a few other places that to dig them out but I really don't want to as it's virtually brand new but if I have to I will.

Also do you have any tips on stopping these from happening? I cut the grass once a week and depending on weather (if it's not rained for 2 days I water it on the 3rd).

they're dandelions, and yes they do need to be dug out. If you don't, they'll go to seed and give you 100s more dandelions


Prevention? You can't prevent weed seeds coming in on the wind, or in bird poop etc. What you can do is control them, by removing as they appear, or by accepting a certain amount of insubordination
