NZ. flat worm

I have been putting seaweed on my garden over the last couple of months, and today while doing some work at my raised bed I noticed a dead flat worm, can anyone tell me if the seaweed could have killed it, or if not what could have. It was lying on top of seaweed that I had put on the garden about four weeks ago

Could it have been assaulted by the salt on the seaweed? Like salt on a slug?

That was my first thought VC but this seaweed had been down for about four weeks and it wasnt there yesterday, as I check the beds quite regularly

Thanks Nicos. Hadn't seen that although when I had my last plot I did correspond with Dr Brian Boag after having a problem with flatworm.

No sign of the blighters in my new plot thankfully.

Really peculiar beasties. They can go from 2inches X 1/4 inch to an 8 inch needle like thing in a few seconds

It's really quite sad hearing about all these non native invasive species taking hold isn't it?

It's the ease of spread that is really alarming. In my last plot my native worms were totally wiped out. Took a couple of years and loads of Fym before I saw any again
