They may not be a pest to some, but here in Spain along with many other European countries cats are a big big problems, 1000´s of strays!!!
I would never think of actually hurting any but i have a problem......

After 3 of my owned strays got poisoned last year we are down to 1, the most timid little girl, she is lovely but a complete push over, well there are about 3 stray (or belong to a spanish neighbour) they are really tormenting her, she is spayed has been since 6 months, but they come and bully her steal her food and come inside my house and p!ss everywhere!!!! she is an outdoor cat, she came as a stray and she does not want to be inside, so i cannot lock her away. I have my own 3 dogs and many foster´s at a time but they do not care about being scared off by dogs

I am a little ashamed to say but you can get these little bangers which work now and again to scare them off but i do not like doing it

Does anybody have any ideas to stop these boys coming and beating up my cat and stealing the food.

P.s not worth talking to the neighbour, seriously the way they keep their animals they won't snip or do anything.

Not sure how much good advice I can give, other than a water gun or hosepipe when you see them. Hopefully other people will be able to help. Feral or semi-feral cats are very determined and resourceful creatures.

We are very lucky in this country to have so many charities big and small which just about manage to cope with the stray, abandoned and un-neutered animals.

Are they coming over to eat her food - like rats come for chicken food.
Remove the food and the rats go elsewhere.
Just wondered whether she comes into a safe place for food - maybe somewhere that your dogs frequent?

I have tired that but she is a very fussy eater and will only eat a few pieces at a time so i feed in the morning on the windowsill so i can see what happens. I take the food away if i am not around. It´s mainly the night times screams i hear when she is being beaten up, its horrible. The dogs love to torment her, she gives chase so they love to chase her, poor thing. She goes into the garage but if she can get in so do the strays.

I usually like any cat but there was a cat that was bullying & scratching my cat a couple of years ago,I'd find it eating my cats food by the kitchen, but you can't keep the doors shut in the summer,so I used to have to squirt it with a plant water sprayer, the tiniest bit of water made it run away, saying no helps them understand too, they're really clever,he runs away if he sees me now & I'm happy because he was mean to my cat. Does your cat have scratches on her nose etc Sometimes cats make a lot of noise but then come home untouched too. I don't like the collars with bells,if they're being bullied by other cats it can lead them to them. Good luck with scaring off the strays!

Yes she has had scratches, lots of scabs and a very massive abscess on her neck, which resulted in her having to be locked in the spare room for a month as she couldn't eat. I guess i will keep scaring them, when they see me then soon run. Maybe i should have gained their trust and relocated them

That's so sad, they get scared to go out it's horrible. Night time seems worse for cat fights round here, but it doesnt happen much. Relocating a cats difficult when it could be a neighbours cat. It's difficult to know who the owners are, some cats travel quite far? This cat that I thought was a stray because it had fleas turned out to be a neighbours,I found out from another neighbour recently, terrible owners letting it have fleas for so long & not feeling sorry for it & treating it with frontline like I did a couple of summers ago. I used to comb through & find extreme amounts of fleas, they were really irritating the cat so I used the frontline I still don't know if I should have because I didnt know if it was a stray but when I got my cat, that cat was dropping fleas & passed them onto my cat so I had to. Good luck with your cat & no more harm comes to her!

I was only joking <bout relocating, i love animals and hate being mean to them so it adds to the problem. Maybe i should try and catch them and neuter them
