silver birch leaves being eaten

Hi all.

Can anyone help me with my 3 year old silver birch.
Last year and this year, the leaves are being eaten.
Can't see any little critters during the day and evening.
Have tried various sprays and sticky fly paper as I thought it may be earwigs climbing up. No sign off caterpillers or bugs??
