By Googling, I think I've identified what is wrong with my small damson tree, and have come up with the above. I only have 2 rods, comprised of a raised bed and ground bed, and inherited the tree when I took on the plot.
Our TA states no bonfires, but apparently treatment starts with removing and burning the diseased fruits. So how on earth can I dispose of the infected fruits and branches responsibly? I have a tub of Bordeaux mixture that I can use to spray the tree (awkward, as I'll have to find ladders). It's not very high, but getting there. Hard to say how old it is, maybe 9-10 years old, and has never been pruned. Hoping to get that done this year.
I don't think we can even have incinerators here, and as I live in flats we don't have brown bins either. Could I take the stuff to our recycling depot for disposal, do you think? Has anyone ever had this on their trees and successfully treated it?
Thanks.
