Have noticed these past few days some black vine weevil in the house...does this mean disaster for my trees and plants which are in pots outside? Is there anything I can do now that would prevent any grubs taking hold?

You could try Armillatox. It's no longer sold as a pesticide as it would have cost too much to comply with regs. Found old post with dosage details. Armillatox in the Garden - John Holiday | My GardenRiddlesdown (S Croydon)
