  • Stolen potatoes

Anybody know what animal disturbs the soil around the roots of growing potatoes, removes (devours) all the potatoes and leaves the foliage intact. This has occurred in an allotment recently when growing Xmas potatoes.

I'd agree with rodents of some kind.

When I first got my allotemnt plot I asked if any plotholder had grown Pink Fir Apple potatoes? One guy said he had tried them but had mever tasted them?

The rats got the bloomin lot!

I'd go with rats too ( if you're sure it's not humans??)

Back in the UK, most of my JA's had been dug up by rats and stored on the plot next to ours ( about 20 feet away)

Over here voles eat so many of my bulbs/ roots of plants...flippin pain.

Oh and welcome to the Vine from me too!
