First fruit ripening, but all the ripe ones have been eaten. Hoping this is slug damage and not birds as covering the bed will be difficult, how do I tell?

Doesn't look like slug damage (or mouse you'll be glad to hear).
Covering with netting shouldn't take too long if you have some.
A few canes round the bed with yogurt pots or such like on. then hold the netting down with a few stones that you have lying about or lengths of timber.Comment
