Does this need Bordelaise or is it more serious?

Hi Guys,

Several photos:
Tomatoes, cucumber and aubergine in the polytunnel;
Courgette growing in the garden.

First, have they all got the same thing?
Second, what is it?
Third, will a dose of Bordelaise (Bordeaux mix) fix it?
Finally, what's the best time of day to spray?

You're in France, I think?
IIRC Bordeaux mix has been banned in the UK.
I just cut off ropey old leaves and let the others get on with it. Tomato often curl up their leaves in the heat.

If you think it's mildew related then a milk and water spray will keep it at bay.

Yes I'm in France.
A good 70% of the tomato plant leaves are either like the photo or starting to go that way. The other plants are affected as well. What do you think it is? What would you use in place of Copper compounds to treat?

The yellow spots in pictures 2 and 3 look like downy mildew. It's a fungal disease and if you look on the backs of the leaves you should be able to see spots of fungal growth where the yellow spots are located. Bordeaux mixture is used against it in countries where it is still allowed, but it only works as a preventative and is not supposed to be much use after the disease has already arrived. The tomato in picture 1 just seems to have curled leaves which is very common and usually not a problem. Picture 4 I'm not sure about but it looks like a different problem. Maybe a nutrient deficiency or maybe just an old tired leaf that's done it's work.

You shouldn't use Bordeaux mixture at this stage of the season as the harvest interval is at least three weeks.

As others say, the tomatoes aren't a problem. And as the yellow spotted leaves look to be mainly the top leaves, it may be a watering or scorching issue. The other leaves look quite healthy.

Id be tempted to put a little epson salt in the ground too, it will enhance the nutrient uptake and give the plants a fighting chance.
Pre dissolve in a watering can for the first feed so it get going faster then in a couple of weeks just scatter half a teaspoonful at the base of each plant.

Update

Thanks for all the advice guys, thought you'd like an update.

The cucumber turns out had the mosaic virus, wiped out!
Courgettes, nothing helped, got some courgettes off our three plants but now they don't ripen and just go to mush.
Aubergines struggled a bit but after spraying with diluted milk and feeding them up they recovered and are producing some great fruits.
Tomatoes in the polytunnel are doing well, and the lower leaves have stayed curled. The ones outside unfortunately have got blight. It's been a very odd Summer over here in France, damp then hot, damp then hot. I've got a lot of green tomatoes to experiment with, my next posts may be to the recipes threads!!
