Is it too late for this houseplant?

Is there any drainage holes or could the roots be in very wet compost or could it be very dry at the bottom? Or too much fertiliser,it's difficult to know how it happened we can see the result but don't know about the care of the plant,did you repot the other plant on the left at the same time or is that the mother plant & is that an offspring from that plant?Location : Essex

Hi maillme. It still has some green leaves so I don't think it's completely dead. We might be able to give you better advice if you tell us more about it. What kind of plant is it? Did you grow it from seed, or a cutting, or did you buy it? Did you repot it from a smaller pot? Has it always lived indoors on that windowsill? What kind of soil or compost or mixture did you fill the pot with? How much have you been watering it? Anything else about it that might be relevant?
