Weed killer for gravel drive

Any ideas on the strongest weed killer the public can buy and also what a business could buy for a gravel driveway. It's fast disappearing under a sea of weeds and moss. I've managed to scrape a bit of the moss off but it's a hard job and think I'm only spreading any weed seeds there may be in it. Any tips gratefully accepted.

I don't like using weed killer, won't a flame gun do it?

Would it? It's quite a long wide driveway always thought these things only did small areas?

I use vinegar followers by a flame gun. The flame gun will only work if the ground I'd dry but you can use the vinegar any time. Bicarbonate if soda will also stop the moss growing. It changes the PH of the surface.

Can you rake over the gravel to disturb the weeds, and let them die off?
Might depend on what sort of weeds they are.

Unless there is a lot of grass among the weeds, a lawn weedkiller would be perhaps be best, it usually does moss too.

As Roitelet says, bicarb of soda scattered on it will kill off the moss, and is cheap to bulk buy, but it won't harm the weeds.

Regular raking is the best control for weeds on gravel drives. If it's a very long drive, maybe hire a man with a sit on mower or mini tractor to pull a gravel harrow.

VC we have used a hoe on the bigger ones and cleared a lot of the moss but I think it's just spreading any seeds there may be there. Plus it's such hard work on such a large are, although mothhawk it's not quite so large I'd need to hire a tractor! Thought I would dig out the biggies and just use weedkiller on the rest. Looked up the bicarbonate option...seems if you add vinegar and washing up liquid or use salt instead of bicarbonate it may well work? Anyone tried that before?

If you mix vinegar and bicarbonate of soda you will create something like Vesivius!!!!! Salt and vinegar works and just dump salt on things like dandelions.

Will give it a try. Yes I've experienced the vinegar/bicarbonate volcano! Son in law had a nose bleed in bed and some had marked the mattress. Vinegar/bicarbonate/fairy liquid super volcano later, stain was out and I was able to clean area with antibacterial soap. Mattress was brand new.
