Hi Alys,
Thank you for taking the time to answer peoples enquiries.
I have a further question regarding a maiden whip apple I bought earlier this year.
It has new growth towards the top of the central stem (leaves and branches), but while it has one pair of leaves towards the bottom of the trunk, the mid section is bare apart from undeveloped buds. Do you have any ideas why this could be? I planted it as soon as it arrived. Could it be due to the dry weather we've had? While I have kept it watered (and inserted a bottle to help make sure enough water reaches its roots), I wonder if it could have got too dry before I recieved it?
Thanks again,
Anna
