  • Free Vouchers or a Complete Magazine

    Hi Grapes
    Here's a Gripe
Why is it that when you get free vouchers in a magazine it is always on the back of something you want to keep.
And as the shops will not accept photo copies you have to destroy the article that is of interest.
Why can't the page advertising the voucher be on the back of a page of adverts..... then we won't be messing up perfectly good articles like in the July edition of GYO. Saying that August wasn't much better.

    Right Iv'e had my gripe

What a fantastic magazine the August Edition is Congrats to the Editor and all Involved
    Cheers .... John

I agree totally. I would have taken advantage of the watering can offer if it was on a loose sheet of paper, but I am not cutting up my GYO mag for anything - it's too pretty

Can't you photocopy the article you want to keep, and use the voucher?

I understand that - but the flip side was a picture of green manures - you wouldn't lose any text. I suppose it's 'cos I wanted a new watering can I didn't mind snipping it! hehehe

Maybe if they put vouchers on a piece of card that was attached as an extra 'leaf' to the staples, then you would just detach the voucher and not damage the pretty pages in the mag?

I hate defacing any of the magazines I buy you pay good money for it to start with, only to cut bits out when there are freebies on offer.
Why cant the publishers put all the vouchers and adverts in the middle of the magazine then all you have to do is remove the middle section without defacing a perfectly good magazine just a thought

Went in wilkinsons in Cleveleys neer blackpool and they still have loads

Like i said in another post i posted that when i went for the watering can and the tomato feed they had to get the manager out and they went to make a phone call to ckech it was genuine

Obviously nobody has used their vouchers there before

I don't have a Wilkinsons near me Nearest store is 25.2 miles away, so it would have to be a 50 mile trip.

I agree, I don't like to cut up magazines, would like to see an additional card with the offers.

It would be interesting to know the redemption rates on good offers like this. It looks a good watering can, and you can never have enough of them.

I think the retail price was £1.49
Similar for the Tomato Feed the previous month

Maybe you could do like i did and as two months magazine offers overlap take 2 at once and coinside it with other shopping
                  Cheers .... John

Thats a good price, they normally cost at £3.50 arround here.

Just noticed the voucher is valid until 14 Aug, so I have time.

                    Thanks

I'm very pleased with my watering can - and best of all it's free!

You all just reminded me of the can, just cut out token now and off to Wilkies if it's open Sunday.

I agree, I don't like to cut up my mags either.

                          Cheers .... John

Fair point, that - I mean, it's not like there aren't stacks of other offer flyers, piled loose-leaf inside the mag so they fall all over you when you open it up to read.....
