Fig Tree offer. I am sending off for this.
I have A few queries.
Reading-up on it, advice is to keep it in a pot. Is this actually necessary?
How long before I can expect to get fruit. My apples, pears and especially my plums have been growing for 4 or 5 years and this is the first year I have had a really good crop. Can I expect the same from the fig.
Netting - do the birds actually do enough damage to warrant the expense and effort to net. I dont mind birds having some of them, so long as I get some too.
Espallier - Do they lend themselves to this style of growth.

Havent had mine yet, but they are in Tesco`s! Not what you pay a subscription for!!A bad days fishing is still better than a good day at work!

Mine hasn't arrived yet either and I agree with Brooklynodog this is not what I pay a subscription for.
I don't accept the explanation that a bank holiday has sdomething to do with it after all it's not like they suddenly announced the holiday and it caught everyone on the hop!Comment

Back to the Fig Tree!
I've got every sympathy with subscribers who will be getting their issue after I do. (That was one of the reasons I decided not to subscribe - no appreciable wait!
)
To this fig tree:
In addition to wellies' questions, will it grow outside in Scotland? If it's got the same tomcat smell as my ex's, I don't really want it in the house!Comment

When he first got it (as a present) I thought that he'd left the door to his flat open and a tomcat had got in! Mind you, his sister (the donor) has a very wacky sense of humour I like her!!
