I picked up the February copy of GYO on Friday, and always flick straight to the two places where I know our 'Vine' advise is shown.

...had been viciously butchered during editing. So much so, that it doesn't even make sense anymore - I'd rather the mag hadn't bothered to include my post at all, it makes me look a bit of a twerp

I'm very sorry you're unhappy with the way your tip was edited. Here at GYO, we'd love to include every post in full but, unfortunately, the amount of room on the 'notice board' means this is not always possible. We do try to stay as close to the original wording as space allows.

It happens all over PB. I reckon that all newspaper, magazine, radio, TV and web journalists do a crash course with the Scarborough Evening News. You should see their efforts sometimes.

FWIW the editing bit still made sense to me,but the question should really have been given ALOT more space purely because its the most fundemental part of the allotment.

As a addendum wouldn't it help to put a link to the thread at the bottom of the notice board so people can link directly to the thread as read the full answers

I agree with all of that pies, its just too big a subject area for a 'top tips' section, and a link to the thread is a great idea.

I posted a reply earlier today, but it doesn't seem to be showing in this thread, so am trying again.

Just to say I'm really sorry you aren't happy with the way your tip appeared. I tried my best to include your points and really appreciate the time and effort you put into your post. I will definitely take on board your suggestion about simpler questions - that's a good point. Plus, another Grapeviner's idea to providing a link on the page in the magazine to the thread in the forum is something we will put into action.
