My friend has his by the back door, they get loads of water and he always has a good crop.
I will try growing them in the very large airpots next year ....

Potato Towers for Veg Plots – 150 Litres - 2 Pack

£41.68 for two 150 litre pots .... they can be assembled to fit ontop of each other to give an overall height of 1 meter and last a lifetime

I am also going to buy the airpot compost bin which looks very good:

Hi David, I use soil and compost and feed with my homemade fertiliser from grass cuttings.

Hi Dim, don't buy containers make you own, compost bags are fine turned inside out, like I said in earlier reply one or two good meals per bag from three tubers per bag. Next time I'll post pics of crop.

I think it also depends what kind of seed potatoes you put in. You mention t&m, well I bought from them potatoes for this year main crop and what they sent me is really a laughing thing only.the potato seeds were the size of my pinky nail. They say it is a new technique they use. I doubt it very much I will get anything out of he lot. Will update here what I will dig out, as the plants are still growing.

With respect, that is high in nitrogen, which promotes leafy growth.

You don't want lots of leaf on a potato, you want tubers. Therefore, use a high potash feed (comfrey, if you're making it yourself) when they start to form tubers (nearer the end of their lifecycle

It's perfectly possible to get crops from peelings. The size of the seed shouldn't matter all that much

Would it matter to the size of the crop or still would be same if its a large potato was planted?

That explains why my potatoes look like their growing in a forest

I think you mean high in phosphate not potash. Potash is for fruit, flowers etc, phosphate for potatoes and maize
