Planted out the pots today. Very small and shrivelled now, but the chits were absolutely perfect. Ground conditions OK: warm soil, quite loose but very fine particles. Planted out with muck and sulphate of iron. Just as I put almost the last one in, I came across a wireworm. Hope the sulphate of iron deals with them. Last potato harvest was very disappointing due to insect damage. Now raining, so a crust will probably form on the surface of the soil.
11 Amandine - first earlies
11 BF15 - second earlies
11 Mandola - early maincrop, supposedly an improved Monalisa.
11 Ratte - very late maincrop, so I hope they have time to do something.
Amandine are supposedly 55 days in the right conditions. So that's about eight weeks. Roughly the middle of July. Seems a bit optimistic. Apparently low yield but very flavoursome.
