Lots of millipedes under the grass that I left on the surface to cut the light, but there are hundreds of them about the place this year, so that's no surprise. This is what you might call a plague year for millipedes. The birds have been feasting on them but you'd never know from the numbers left. Hope they don't become a problem in the veg patch.
I also did a bit more scything.
Mantis tiller needed some attention to bring it back into use. Whoever used it last (unlikely to be me...) managed to wind some blue nylon cord around the axle. Mr Snoop managed to get most of it off but it's worked its way into the gaps between the tines and the axle and the bearing and the axle. Less than ideal. The tines can't be removed for love nor money. But it works.
Mr Snoop has spotted a second-hand Honda F410 for sale in the next village down from ours. It's ancient but he's fallen in love. We're off to see it tomorrow. As an incentive, he says I'll be able to grow onions down in the fields if we get it. If there's one thing I can grow, it's onions. And if there's one thing I'm not actually growing this year with my current plan, it's onions as I don't have enough room. He knows just what to say to get his way!
