Naga chilli plant question

Don't butcher a perfectly healthy naga! That is a stunning looking plant. Leave it alone. The super hots take a little long to flower and fruit, and generally grow quite large given the chance. Will it be going into a bigger pot?

Thanks for the advice, I'll leave it alone then. Have some bigger pots if needed, it was just repotted into the 5 litre a few weeks ago.

I thought my Naga's were doing well, till I saw your ( a black naga & Norman the Dorset naga ). Best advice I can give is put him in the biggest pot you have the space for and feed weekly. He will need some support as well to stop branches braking off. Then sit back and watch him turn into a monster.

It looks fabulous! It has forked at the top so you will have flowers very soon. The naga is a different species (chinense) from the other chillies you are growing (annuums) so it has a different growth habit.

I was also surprised how big the leaves grow on them!

My Black naga leaves last year

Be prepared for that plant to grow bigger

superhots are a lot slower to mature and require a longer season, feed weekly and it will soon get there, the only time i remove leaves it if they are looking unhealthy it stimulates new growth but dont hack at it if its healthy, you could try the pepper feed here its really god stuff and all about the nano currently

I use that on my chillies and also the instant compost tea on my allotment it makes a world of difference in terms of size and quality, also more importantly yield

I grew some and gave three of the small innocuous looking chilies to a mate.
He told his wife to put them in the chilli con carne for their bonfire night party.
Apparently no one could eat it !

Thats hilarious! I've no idea what I will do with these naga's yet.....

Naga's actually have a very fruity taste if you can tone down the heat a bit, honestly it is worth trying to do this. I found a recipe for Hot African Chilli sauce (google it) and it makes an really good accompaniment to Dorito's, if you have Naga's you need to experience the fruitiness they have

Hi, I'm growing some naga plants for the first time also, and this is my first post

when you say unhealthy leaves what do you mean by that? I've received a seedling from a friend and have grown this plant over the past couple of months. Since the early days I've noticed the leaves have been looking very brittle and the tips of the leaves were starting to brown. I noticed there were a couple of greenflies on the leaves, which I had removed using an insect killer. The plant has been growing but I don't feel satisfied that the leaves are healthy.

Now I've noticed my plant is starting to flower and I want to make sure it's as healthy as t could be with the hope I get more fruit out of it. Can anyone advise me on what I need to do to cure these deforming leaves? Any help would be kindly appreciated

I've seen unhealthier looking plants, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
I'd say the slightly wrinkle bit of the leaves is from the aftermath of the greenfly. So if you've got rid of those little beasties, that shouldn't happen to any other leaves. The slightly lumpy look on some of the leaves could be ( not 100% sure ) due to a slight over watering. They take up all the water and store it in the leaves ( I think ). So just hold back on the watering a little.

Do worry your plant is doing ok

yours is healthy mate, when I say unhealthy the leaves were light yellow. luckily after a good feed they are now back to a lush green colour

I have 2 black naga plants. One is on my window sill in a 5 litre pot, the other is outside in a growhouse. I had no more room for it. Im not expecting much from it with it being outside.
