  • Satans kiss chilli advice ?

So, despite the fact that these golfball sized chillis are supposed to be the bees knees when stuffed ( about 50 k on scoville) so an easilly edible chilli in its own right , i can find very little growing info on it .

So its an Italian heirloom variety so im assuming that it may be possible to start it off a little earlier than the hotter varieties?.
I had a major dissapointment with duff seed last season so really want to get this year off to a good start, all info gratefully received esp if based on own exp

Oh never heard of them Jack but I will go a mooching on line as stuffed chilli's sound really good.

Either way sorry to butt in but.......

Am just treating mine as standard - they will go in the propagator in Feb as I don't have fancy lights to put seedlings under.

They sound lovely lumpy, thick skinned like a papper but hotter, scoop the insides out and stuff them with cheese the Itallians do , dying to try them.

Yea i was thinking the same sparrow but i may just start one or two mid january and then a couple more a fortnight later, want these to work so much

Have you got a propagator Jack? You could just see if the seeds sprout? Test one or two on a piece of damp kitchen towel in a Tupperware pot covered in cling film/plastic bag, somewhere warm. If they take ages to germinate start the other off sooner rather than later.

Hope I'm not bursting any bubbles, but I remember growing them a few years ago and don't think you'll get much inside them!!
Even looking at VC's post, they seem quite small for stuffing?? That's what size they were for me too...
Anyway I'll have a look at the seed pack as I think I still have a few....

I got a couple at the Challock Chilli Fest - you'd get a teaspoon of soft cheese in those. Hopefully mine won't be titchy.

Yep game on Scarlet , just wish id tried the seed swap first lol, bought mine off real seeds a few weeks back.
No bubbles bursting Trip, i got sold the wrong seeds last year so any sized one will be an improvement , maybe worth overwintering them ?.
Yes Sparrow, will have waited the best part of 18 months to try these if i get some growing lol, just gotta fix my gh roof first.

Don't get too excited! There's no date on the packets and they look a bit old.
