  • ULTIMATE varieties

    Hi,

I have been trawling the forum to find a thread about the very best varieties of anything. I want peoples recommendations on those varieties that you just couldn't do without. Not just ones that did well or tasted nice.

Probably limited to one or 2 per grower....What are the Ultimate Varieties that you just have to grow each year, might not be glamorous but always on the list!!

I particularly like Masterpiece Green Longpod for Broad Beans. Although I enjoy podding Beans, its good to get loads in a pod and I like the taste and they grow well consistently.

Also Sarpo Mira spuds. Always produce a good number of go sized tubers, helped by the blight resistance, but I think they taste good too.

I know everyone will have their own favourites, and possibly not like others choices, so just shout out your favourites....

Bijou mangetout ' cos they're big and easy to grow and pick.

Gardener's Delight tomato - cheap as chips but, to me, they taste how a tomato should taste - maybe because its the first one I ever grew.

                              Jalapeno chilli peppers.
