Oct and even early Nov is a good time to get broad beans in.

      Welcome to the club ;-)

Does your allotment have a greenhouse or cold frame? If yes, then you can try things like carrots under glass. You can also get salad leaves, winter lettuce and spring onions that are specially designed for winter growing.
I have only just finished the spring onions I sowed late last September, winter Lisbon variety, as I learned the trick of cutting them but leaving roots/growth plate intact so that they resprouted!

Garden centres usually have various brassicas and possibly leeks ready for planting out. Soft fruit bushes will be in the shops soon as well.

              Hello and welcome, Paul.

As well as all the other suggestions people have made, and depending on your location, you might still be in time for things like spinach, radishes, daikon and lamb's lettuce.
