I have the deepest sympathies for you and anyone else who has this problem. Given that the law no longer seems to be too interested in the innocents anymore it can be very difficult to get anything done without you coming off as the 'bad guy'! That's why when, last year I separated from my partner, I looked for a place that was in a neighborhood that could only be described as 'boring' just so as to avoid that problem - and I was willing to stretch myself to my financial limit in order to achieve that goal. I'm not a party person anyway and rarely go out, so a comfortable home life is important. I'm surrounded by retired folk in a little village that doesn't need a police station and the shock/horror news at the town meetings is that some of the kids knocked over a flower pot somewhere. I did once live in a flat where our cars would be broken into regularly and one of the ground floor flats had a group of kids there who would actually light fires in the middle of the floor! And yes, the techno boom-boom-boom! Okay, now I'm skint, but a lot more relaxed and look forward to spending as much time at home (and of course, in the garden) as I can.

UPDATE: Russians Out !
Oh how we cheered as the Spanish put the ball in the Russian net 3 times last night - those Russian neighbours of mine certainly weren't singing anymore. I was dreading them reaching the final and having to put up with them partying all weekend - before they LEAVE on Monday. Yip Yip.
I just wonder, would it be childish to set my alarm for 4.30 a.m. on Sunday, put my soundsystem on 11 and go up the allotment for the rest of the morning ?
