My allotment is heavy clay soil and is infested with mares tail, I've tried digging it out and picking out the roots but the heavy soil makes this virtually impossible, anybody have a better idea or do I just have to live with it?

Although it gets everywhere there are much worse weeds to have. The roots go very deep so it doesn't compete with your plants or throttle them like bind weed. I just keep pulling it up when I see it and it's gradually receding. Don't let it stress you is the best way of dealing with it - that said, am glad I don't have it at home as well as the lottie
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
