You've recommended the Swoe before, and I'm pondering on it. Is it stainless steel? I love SS tools, but they're no good for sharpening. I have an ancient Dutch Hoe, that I put a new (and extra long) handle on, last year. Lovely and sharp, but not easy to get in the car!All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment

My swoe just fits sideways in my Mazda, so I bought one for the lottie, and the community garden so I didn't have to keep taking it everywhere.

Swoes are great unless, like me, you're not good at using toils like that between plants without damaging the plant. I think it's my poor coordination, I need to be down close to the soil even if I then struggle to stand up again
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Hmmm - a swoe you say (which for the record is surprisingly difficult to Google)
Maybe I'll forgo the cold frame this yearNot much time and not much money, but trying to figure out a better way to grow my own by gathering allotment tips, and writing an allotment blog about using them.

I just planted out my spuds with a cheapo short handled planter and my back is not happy and as I foolishly ditched the gloves I've got blisters.
How easy is it to get the soil out of the cylinder BM?
I'd like to say inquiring minds want to know but it's just my mind which is rather dull at this time on a Friday.
