  • Dwarf Medlar Westerveldt - do I need to prune it?

    Hi

Apologies for being back so soon with another pruning question...! This time it's my Dwarf Medlar Westerveldt, which was bought as a Mini Bush (5.5 Litre pot) last year, and was 4 years old at that stage (so 5 years old now). It is still in a pot at the moment, but I'm hoping to get it into the ground asap. It currently stands around 1.5 metres / 5 foot tall.

Does anyone have one of these or have any knowledge as to whether they need pruning? If so, any tips on how to prune it?

    Here's some photos:

Prune out any branches that are likely to rub against each other in the wind, if they rub it can causes injury that can let disease in. Is that smaller middle branch going through the the branches of the left main branch? If so I'd be tempted to prune it out.
