  • Lawn protection

    Hi

i have a rotary clothes line in the middle of my lawn, so in the winter months I create a muddy path through the grass when I hang out my washing.

I've had a look on-line for meshes etc that I could lay out as a path to protect it a bit, but all I've found is either way too big (I need a "path" no wider than 0.5m wide (to fit between fixed garden features etc) and 5m long) but the smallest lightweight stuff seems to come in 1m x 10m lengths, or too robust (the only way a car could ever be driven over this is if a helicopter dropped one on the lawn).

What do other people do? I don't really want stepping stones - something relatively portable I could take up in the summer and hide behind the shed would be ideal.

Hi, have you looked at roll-up or roll-out garden paths? There seem to be quite a few options online.

I guess the only problems might be if you leave deep imprints or end up with yellowing grass in your lawn, but they might sort themselves out a few weeks after you've lifted the path.

I was thinking you could roll it out on the days you need to access the line , then take it up so as to have even less impact on the lawn?
