it is a bit soon to start seeds at the moment we have had a very mild winter and frosts are expected end jan / feb..

collect toilet roll tubes fill with compost place broad bean seeds a quater of depth from the top. lightly water place in cold frame or propergator..

potatos - start chitting them- buy seed potatoes place them in egg cartons keep them indoors in a sunny room and allow them to produce leaf/root noduals.. plant out april -may

garlic / shallots. fill small pots or trays with compost place garlic or shallots in them lightly water keep in cold frame or propergator

sow sweet pea seed in trays or pots end jan.... the ground has to be warm enough for the plants to grow it is no good having all your seeds ready and there are hard frosts or the ground too wet and cold...

I agree with all said above, be careful with anything else though. I have heard a forecast today that we can expect 30 days of frost and snow starting next week we shall wait and see.

Try some sweet or chilli peppers on the windowsill

From what I hear on the news it has already started in the west and should be moving east in the next couple of days.

I can slip over any weather - and snow gives a softer landing.

I'm pretty clever at that sort of thing too but walking the pooch is a safer option in the rain than the snow especially when it gets compacted and slippy ....
