  • What can I sow in containers now?

    Hey guys
So I only started growing recently, I have a few herbs, some mixed salad leaves and spring onions potted at the moment.
However I wanted to grow some more things, so I went to my local shop to look at their seeds and I have realised I have missed the sowing period for a lot of them.

What you you recommend for a beginner to be growing this time of year in containers?

    Thanks
    Dread

Beetroot did well in containers for me last year and can still be sown now. Salad leaves will be fine too if you go for cut and come again varieties. Dwarf French beans could still be sown too.

Like SC I've been to the Range and bought dwarf french beans, Purple Queen and beetroot Crosby Egyptian. Also some lettuce, spinach and herbs all at 49p a packet. Flower seeds at the same price. Will be busy today.

Oh so there is still a lot that can be sowed. I will have to have a look at where our closest range is as I’m new to the area and still finding my way around.

I am leaning towards spinach and lettuce as we usually buy a fair amount of them.

If you like leaves..how about kale or chard? Or even beetroot just for leaves..You could sow in modules now for an autumn crop.

Interesting leaf/seed offer here. The packs are very well priced.

Well we are in Wales for the weekend so I’m gonna try and grab some more seeds and pots while I’m here.

My only problem is my garden table is running out of room. Is there anything small I can buy to store my plants?
I’d like a green house but my garden isn’t big enough.
