  • Well under way...

Finally managed to get a dry enough (well, actually it's been peeing down all day long) day to move the chicken house in to it's final resting place! It all looks a bit messy at the moment, but thought I'd share our stage 1 construction (actually it's about stage 20, but this is stage 1 outside!).

The cats insisted on supervising the entire project, whilst ensuring the pop hole worked efficiently, etc! Oh, and the big hole in the side is where our nest box is going to be, obviously can't put that on until it's secured in place though!

Hopefully we'll be finished tomorrow...run and all! Wish us luck!!!

    We need it

Ps: I have more pictures, but it's taking soooo long to put them on!

It's only grand because I didn't make it myself!!! My cousin is a joiner and my Daddy is a builder, so I've bullied them in to submission! I was considering sitting inside it today to supervise proceedings instead of getting soaked in the horrible rain!!!

It'll look great after Thursday when the girlies are inside it! Oooo...can't wait!!!

I think the picture with the cat/kitten in it is class!

At the moment it'll be home to three 12 week old faverolles, due to be collected tomorrow or Thursday! However, I intend on introducing some ex bats in the not so distant future, so I'm making it plenty big enough for my addiction to...blossom!

I'm so tired I could sleep where I stand!

Well...after 12 hours solid work, we finally have a completed chicken house & run!!

The girls arrive Friday, so everything is good!!

Excuse the mess around it, I was too keen to a get a pic...I should have tidied up first!!

Thanks! I'll tell you, I don't feel lucky right now. I'm aching from head to toe, and my hands feel like sandpaper! Still, it's all done now, so I can relax and enjoy the girls.

I was going to buy one too, but found that they were actually tiny compaired to the picture they showed! Mind you, I was looking at ebay, etc!

Good luck with nagging your OH to build your extension!

Very smart indeed. I love the table and chairs set out for the many days (and nights) of "chook" watching to come
