just out of interest, what breed are they and do you often get double/triples?

and apparently most fertile double yolkers don't make it

This was the first triple yolker but I have had several double yolkers. My girls are hybrids, a Bluebell, one Magpie and an Amber- brown and white. They came from Stagenhoe farm( I'm in Hertfordshire) and everything has been plain sailing, so far. They have been absolute delight and I don't think I've done anything different from anyone else, they just produce!!!

lol Just once started, this chook malarky seems to really get under ones skin.... virtually everyone here has ended up getting more over time.... was just wondering that's all.

Once I started, G4 predicted I'd get more before easter and she was right....

Well, there's a possibility my neighbour might be giving me her shed, soooo if that happens and once it's converted I was thinking I may be able to squeeze another one or two in!!!! But we'll see. I'd really like a blue egg layer

Me too!!!!! I've bought blue/green eggs from supermarket and were they tasty eggs! As good as home eggs!

Our girlees have never had double or even triple yolkers! You are lucky! Mind you judging the size compared with the single yolker - I wouldn't've liked to lay that one! Even the yolks are the same size! Phewwf!

I hate to brag (OK I LERVE it!) but we've had 3 double yolkers - in 3 weeks. I don't know if it's the same chicken that's doing it though. I assume so, but not necessarily.
