  • New coop - what do you think?

Was very busy yesterday, went to collect a delapidated old childrens play shed from our local pub - it was no longer safe and they needed it disposing off..

I brought it home, stripped it down into sections, carried out repairs on broken lats etc, painted it with timber treatment inside and out, and added an external nest box and a few feature designs..lol

It is still a work in progress, but will be assembled by end of today (after market) and ready to add a run to in the morning..

Need to fit perch and waste tray and do a few other internal bits once its up - but here it is so far - what do you think..

My missus said am I buying some "Gay Chickens today" when she saw it- cheeky mare...

Looks nice but should the front of a coop have open mesh like that?

Shutters sound good. They'll give you good ventilation in summer.

                            Nicos, heres a clue..lol

Well my 3 beaten up hens are now in the hands of a new owner!!!

But I am the proud owner of 4 light West Sussex and 3 Marans..

Auction fever caught hold early, so I have to leave before I buy the whole catalogue... Anyways needed to be back to crack on with new home for this lot...

Pics below.. Also how much should I expect to pay for 3 Marans & 4 Light West Sussex???

Put them all in spare run for now, the odd peck but nothing at all to worry about..

Happy Days - just the wife to convince whata good move ive made..

depends on where you have brought - auction prices bot go for between £5 and £10 each around here depending on age, size, etc

They are nice though, love your marans - all you need now is a cream legbar or two - then you will have chocolate brown eggs from the marans, pale beige/creamy eggs from the LS and blue eggs from the Cream legbar - a box of multi coloured eggs - how cool!!!
