  • Tomato growing tomato seeds within itself!

Well I have seen pics of this phenomenon before and now I have witnessed my own! ...
I will admit these were vine grown toms from Aldi and left on the kitchen work top as I know that 'putting a tomato in the fridge will affect flavour'
I thought I d better use them as despite their healthy appearance they had been sitting there more than a week.
Imagine my surprise to cut them open and see this!

I've had this happen with tomatoes grown on a windowsill in very hot weather. If the tomatoes get over ripe and warm they start to grow.

The thing was Penellype they didn't rot or show any signs of being over ripe just a little soft but perfectly healthy... Amazing really x

Yes, same with mine - soft but nowhere near rotting. I suppose the purpose of a tomato is to grow new tomato plants, so we shouldn't really be surprised.

SP I do a vine search using google it works much better than the search here.

Yeah he's producing loads of toms.
Here he is. Taken just now.
He's not going to win any beauty contests, but I like him.
You can always find space for a special little surprised find tomato ( that's why he's in a tub, no space in the bed for him )
