If they do all make it and you want to rehome some. I'd wait till they're a bit bigger ( 5 or 6 sets of true leaves ). Then you'll have half a chance of choosing the best selection for yourself.

Just as a very rough guide line
Generally the more rounded / heart shaped leaves are very hot varieties

More pointy leaves can be pretty much anything from sweet peppers to lemon drop

Then there's the hairy little fellas. These are an odd bunch rocoto types and farmers market jalapeo. No doubt other things as well.

    • Thanks for that. I am only just starting to see true leaves on a few so too early to tell, but I am watching closely. Of the 4 I potted on 3 or looking fine. One is looking a bit sad but have given it a wee bit more water and hoping it’ll perk up.

      • How's everyone's babies doing ?
I'm starting to see a little variation in left types. It's very exciting!

        • Mine have all got or are putting out their second set of true leaves. Some slow growers, presumably these are Capsicum chinense?

          • Yes, it's most likely that the slow ones are chinenses.

Fencing before cruelty might be the way to go! Not just to the bunnies but also cruelty too people you're going to feed reaper soaked cabbage too.

                • Mine are doing fine. Haven’t put any more from modules to pots but will try and do that this week. Very excited to see a couple of seeds from the pit where I put the ‘dust’ have germinated. The seeds must have been tiny ones.

Some are turning into triffids, others are still just seed leaves.

                    • That’s quite some variation between seeds!

                      • Looking great. Do you think I should pot up some of mine that are getting big for the module and where I have maybe 4 in one module? They look quite happy but might help them to grow faster. My tomatoes have really shot up since I potted them on.

                        • Best to separate them while they are small.

I've only potted up one of mine because it kept falling over. The rest will be staying in modules until they go out to the tunnels. Just because I don't have space for 70+ extra pots in my dining room. I feel very mean keeping them in such small quarters .
If you have the space they really would appreciate being potted on. I agree with Mitzi, I'd definitely separate the ones sharing modules.

Like yours it's taking ages to do anything. Quite a few of the small seed seedlings are doing the same.

These 2 are the only tiny seeds I had germinate and they came up first. They are staying true to form. They are very cute little plants.

Watered all my chillies this morning. When brushing all these mystery chillies to one side so I don't get water on the leaves. The very strong smell of hot chilli coming of them was very encouraging

                              • 2nd flush of seedlings are on their way. It is a strange old world. This time like last, it is the middle modules that have produced seedlings. Going to pot up tomorrow so will look into seed and size them.

I also have a seedling from 1st flush that looks a bit like willow herb... Question is chilli or weed

                                Anyone else got anything similar?

                                Picture to come.
