What I did today 2024.

Planted lots of lavender cuttings.
Dead headed the sweetpeas .
lots of weeding.
Then my daughter called and stopped the work.
Sat and had some tea instead.

A bit of weeding.
Removed as many blighted leaves as I could from the maincrop potatoes.

Put the last blowaway away in the shed,made room for tomatoes. I haven’t planted everything,I needed the space Fed the pots with tomato fertiliser. Potted up the third wall basket with two petunias & a French marigold. Saw a red admiral yesterday & today. Removed some low hanging tomato leaves,deadheading,tied in the cucumbers. Took some photos

Snipped off the tops of the tomato plants. Chopped the tops of half of the mint plants to try to encourage new shoots. Trimmed the overflowing potted thyme plants, then dehydrated the trimmings in the new Liddl air fryer. Sowed a few more radishes.

Pulled up self seeded Camomile they're popping up everywhere.

Just some gentle weeding of some tall weeds which are just about to seed everywhere. Just caught them in time!…phew.

Today I lifted a large tub of charlottes & stored the potatoes in newspaper,to give me more space for plants In the tub I planted a jaune flamme tomato with mini sweet pepper,red French marigold & pale pink petunia & some nettle fertiliser. Cut down some other potato leaves. Very hot out there,one of my south facing cucumbers was wilting at lunchtime so I made a fleece sun shield. Earthed up two of the self seeded carrots to avoid green tops. I’ll do the watering soon

Decided on a little pruning.
dogwood, bamboo, laurel, elder, honeysuckle, some creeping thing of neighbours and some shrub/tree forget the name of.

Fidded with some plastic climbing trellis to fashion a way of stopping the blackbirds digging in my seed trays

Tied in rose, sweetpeas, courgette

EDIT to say I caught the culprit this morning, apologies to the blackbirds.
It was a sparrow

Removed more leaves from the blighted potatoes. The roasting potatoes are pretty bad now.

Yesterday, weeding, feeding, grass cutting, emptied a tub of potatoes and will sow either lettuce or Mooli it the tub.

Planted out some sunflowers and cosmos
Sowed seeds
Moved some pots around

Removed grass and weeds from between the patio slabs disturbing a lot of ants at the same time. Then fed courgettes and toms with comfrey and cut the grass.

Pruned the grapes again, and thinned the bunches.
