Hmmm....Orson Welles ? Alfred Hitchcock...I know, Clement Freud !
Upon reflection, perhaps not...There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.

Well, I must have had an adventure...it was at times grim, hard to do, wet, miserable and surprising, with pleasantness and confusion along the way !
It was chilly in Lumphanan, then hot in Aberdeen...until it turned wet. Then it cooled, and then it got really wet (as did the dog, totally not having grasped the concept of "here is shelter" at all ) and then after some lovely sunshine again it started dinging doon hail !
But I earthed up tatties, watered and fed plants, harvested some and threw out old brassicas, sowed salsify and carrots, and harvested yet more JAs. So it was a productive day...just one where I stood there and thought, "I'm sure I've been wetter and more miserable, but I can't think when !"
So what excitements did you guys all have in your days ?There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.

I knew you'd be out adventuring Snoey. It was very wet here this morning but the afternoon improved and I attacked a bit of overgrown garden - clearing it for some tatties. Lots of buttercups, nettles and dock to dig out but the soil was perfect. Not too wet, not too dry. The roots came out cleanly and the soil shook free. When I looked closely at the cleared soil it was moving! The closer I looked the more little creatures I saw; tiny black worms, ants, other nameless things, all scurrying about their business. I was entranced! Just squatted down and watched them. I felt like Gulliver. Seeing tiny creatures like that working so purposefully, made me feel a bit ashamed of all the time I waste!

No adventures here apart from two stray cats popping round to have dinner, rain coming down in stair rods, a quick trip to town (for the first time in ages) to find a whole load of shops boarded up or closing down, and not finding much that I wanted, just about spent more on the car park than the shopping!Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Adventuring up in the Highlands today, after resting hard all day yesterday finally got out to my parents last night, now I have fun jobs like putting words on pictures on the computer, and changing ansaphone messages to do, before I rush off home to do shopping etc. I would far rather be up in the hills...lots of lovely snow on Ben Avon (Pronounced "Anne") and Beinn a' Bhuird ("Ben Ah Voord"). The fresh air here is like wine to me...well, that's my excuse for not managing to walk in a straight line along the pavement !
No snow overnight, but we had a fair bit of hail yesterday. How are your plants all faring ?There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.

No frost here overnight, the sun is shining but its not exactly warm. I'm clearing some more ground for spuds today. Soon I hope to actually plant some!
